The Oldenburg licensed stallion Detroit has been sold to Danish junior rider Anna Zibrandtsen. The black stallion has moved to Sweden, where Zibrandtsen trains at Jan Brink's Tullstorp Stables.
The 7-year old black stallion was owned by Gerd Sosath and bred by Clemens August count of Merveldt in Vechta, Germany. The stallion is by Dimaggio out of Elite Mare Rhapsodie (by Lord Liberty G x Goldlöwe).
The stallion was initially ridden and competed by Hermann Gerdes, who qualified the stallion for the 2010 Bundeschampionate but did not compete him there. The horse went into training with Falk Rosenbauer in 2011. Falk presented his new ride to the public at the 2011 Oldenburg Althengstparade in November but it showed that the partnership was new.
The horse has matured much the past year, showing clear FEI potential, and he has now been sold to Zibrandtsen as new top horse.
"Detroit came to Tullstorp dressage stable about two months ago," Zibrandtsen told Eurodressage. "After one to two weeks in training with Jan Brink, I asked Jan if i could sit on Detroit and the feeling was amazing. I'm so grateful that we got the opportunity to get such an amazing horse. I love his temperament, his gaits. He always wants to work!"
The 18-year old Anna is the 2012 Danish Junior Riders Champion and won team bronze at the 2012 European Junior Riders Championships. At the 2011 Europeans she got team silver and twice individual bronze aboard the Hanoverian mare Capriciella (by Cordoba x Wenzel).
The Zibrandtsen family has recently invested in more talented horses, including foal Finch Hatton (by Fidertanz x Le Primeur x Corradino) at the Klosterhof Medingen auction and four more foals at the Swedish Warmblood foal auction in Flyinge. They also bought the 14-year old Grand Prix horse Okeanos (by Magini x Krocket) as a GP schoolmaster.
With Detroit Anna aims to ride Young Riders next year and then move on to Grand Prix with him.
