The KWPN licensed breeding stallion Don Tango B (by Contango x Jazz) has moved into training with Dutch young Grand Prix rider Diederik van Silfhout in Lunteren, The Netherlands.
The 4-year old bay Don Tango B was the 2011 KWPN Spring Stallion Performance Test winner and has been in training with Dutch young horse specialist Emmelie Scholtens.
Even though Don Tango excelled at the performance testing, the bay has been unable to break through at dressage competitions in The Netherlands and he failed to reach the top of the ranking amongst his peers. At the 2012 Pavo Cup Finals in Ermelo, Don Tango only finished 16th.
Don Tango's owners Jan van Boven and stallion station De Dalhoeve reached a mutual agreement with Scholtens to relocate the stallion to Van Silfhout's barn, where he arrived last week.
"The plan is that Diederik will be showing Don Tango in the 2012-2013 KWPN Stallion Competition," said van Silfhout.
Former rider Scholtens told Eurodressage that "we thought they would try him for a month before they would announce the news. In agreement with the owners we decided that Diederik is probably a better match."
