Danish I-judge and veterinarian Hans-Christian Matthiesen has been officially appointed on the FEI Dressage Committee. The FEI Bureau accepted Matthiesen on the committee today at the 2012 FEI General Assembly in Instanbul, Turkey.
Matthiesen will be replacing Elisabeth Lundholm, who was the chef d'equipe representive on the FEI Dressage Committee and whose mandate had come to an end. He has been appointed for a four-year term (2012-2016).
The term in office of the athletes’ representative Kyra Kyrklund (FIN), appointed by the International Dressage Riders Club (IDRC), was extended until the online voting by athletes has been implemented.
Matthiesen was one of three candidates for the job. O-judge Wojtek Markowski and Austrian I-judge Elisabeth Max-Theurer were vying for the spot as well.
DC candidates had to get the approval of their National Federation as well as be recommended by the current FEI Dressage Committee. Danish Matthiesen was the one who received the support of the DC.
