The 9-year old Westfalian Licensing Champion Estobar NRW will be recovering from injury while standing at stud at Ludger Beerbaum's stallion station, where three dressage stallions are now being offered to the breeders.
German former Olympic team rider Hubertus Schmidt has been training the 2006 Westfalian Licensing Champion but the stallion injured himself. Estobar is back in the build-up phase but as he is also a wanted breeding stallion, it has been decided that he will first stand at stud until the summer of 2013 before his dressage career will be continued.
"It makes sense to give the stallion plenty of time for his recovery and at the same time fulfill the wishes of the breeders," said Hubertus Schmidt.
Estobar was competed as a 6-year old by Wolfhard Witte at the 2010 Bundeschampionate, where he finished seventh in the consolation finals. In 2011 he made the transition to S-level and in 2012 Schmidt took over the ride and competed at small tour level at the national indoor show of Munster in January 2012.
