Ferdinand, Price Highlight of the 2013 KWPN Select Sale Stallion Auction

The 3-year old licensed Dutch warmblood stallion Ferdinand (by Vivaldi x Havidoff) became the price highlight of the 2013 KWPN Select Sale, the auction of licensed and non-licensed stallions at the 2013 KWPN Stallion Licensing in 's Hertogenbosch on Saturday 2 February 2013.

Ferdinand sold for 160,000 euro to FEI dressage rider Mirelle van Kemenade-Witlox and her husband Nico Witlox.

The second most expensive horse was the reserve licensing champion Fecco (by Johnson x Florencio). The owner, Team Nijfhof, bought the stallion back for 100,000 euro.

The most expensive show jumper was Fly High Fortuna HBC (by Alicante HBC x Memphis) which was acquired for 52,000 euro by Wim Zegwaard. He also bought jumper Farfan M (by Cantos x Lux) for 50,000 euro.

German Dr. Kerstin Klieber bought Flambeau (by Ampere x Zeoliet) for 44,000 euro. Guest from Singapore acquired no less than five horses at this auction, including Famous Star (by Wynton x Krack C) for 38,000 euro.

The average price for a stallion was 27,000 euro, which was considerably lower from last year's average of 35,000 euro.
