The licensed Hanoverian stallion Danone II (by De Niro x Weltmeyer) has been euthanized following a complicated leg fracture. The black stallion was only 11 years old.

The 167 cm standing Danone II was bred by Bianca Helmke and owned by Burkhard Wahler of Klosterhof Medingen.

He was first licensed with the Hanoverian society and completed his 30-day performance test in 2006 as a 4-year old. In 2007 he qualified for the Bundeschampionate but didn't compete in Warendorf. Under the owner's daughter Theresa Wahler Danone II started competing at FEI level in 2010. In 2011 Wahler and Danone II qualified for the Nurnberger Burgpokal Finals but finished 12th with only 63.600%. The horse has appeared at hardly any CDI competition in his life. In 2012 the duo competed in the Prix St Georges at the CDI Hagen and finished 25th with 63.684%. They recovered in the Intermediaire I to score 69.000%.

In 2012 Danone II made his Intermediaire II debut and was schooling the Grand Prix.

"We are very sad about the loss of this extraordinary stallion," the Wahler family announced.
