The 4-year old licensed and performance tested Oldenburg stallion Jazzmate (by Jazz x De Niro x Rubinstein) became the price highlight of the 2013 Oldenburg Spring Elite Auction in Vechta on Saturday 6 April 2013.
German dressage trainer Holger Münstermann acquired the chestnut stallion for 110,000 euro. He also bought Centauer B (by Christ x Florencio x Donnerhall) for 40,000 euro.
The second most expensive horse was the mare Surabaya (by Sandro Hit x Colander x Silvano) which sold to Cathy Schack from California for 90,000 euro. L.J. Banks from Los Angeles, CA, purchased Fruhlingsstern (by Furst Piccolo x Donnerhall x Pik Bube I) for 50,000 euro.
The 2007 gelding Jasmund (by Just Perfect x Weltmeyer x Lungau) sold for 23,000 euro and will be headed to Florida to be trained by Monica Burssens in Florida. Florinus (by Florencio I x Donnerhall x Rubinstein I), sold for 13,000 euro and will move to Illinois, US. Headed to Canada is Samur (by San Amour x Harvard x Feiner Stern), which was purchased for 15,000 euro by new clients at the auction who also did not try the horse but received assistance from Thomas Rhinow to acquire their new dressage horse.
The most expensive show jumper of the collection was Cammino (by Casiro x Landsieger x Walentino) which sold for 40,000 to Mr. Stevens. South African clients bough Carlotta (by Colman x Come On) for the same price. Colombian jumpers paid 35,000 euro for Cressida (by Cento x Kannan).
The days before the Spring Elite Auction, the Oldenburg saddle licensing was held and reserve champion Viva Vechta (by Vivaldi x Ferro x Lancer II) sold for 68,000 euro to Australia. The recently approved jumper Cassius (by Cassini II x Argentinus) sold for 45,000 euro to Mexico.
The average price for a sport horse at this auction was 25,225 euro.
