Dutch European team bronze medallist Hans Peter Minderhoud has received the ride on the Oldenburg licensed breeding stallion Romanov, which is owned by Minderhoud's Austrian sponsors Glock and was previously trained and competed by Hans Peter's life partner Edward Gal.
Glock bought Romanov for Gal to compete in January 2013, but the current World Champion will now focus his attention on Grand Prix horses Undercover, the 12-year old Dutch gelding by Ferro x Donnerhall which he took to the Olympics, and his golden oldie, Lens Nekeman's 18-year old Dutch warmblood gelding Next One (by Jazz x Le Mexico).
With the 13-year old stallion Romanov (by Rohdiamant x Grundstein II) Hans Peter Minderhoud now has a fourth Grand Prix horse at his disposal. Hans Peter also competes Tango, Withney van 't Genthof and Glock's recently acquired Oldenburg stallion Lord of Loxley.
"We want to go to the European Championships and Olympic Games," Glock stated. "After Parzival and Undercover, Romanov is the horse with the best results of the Dutch dressage horses and that's why it is also clear that we want to have both good horses available to Glock riders."
Hans Peter and Romanov made their show debut this weekend at the national show in Uden where they won the Grand Prix with 72.24%.
"Just did my first show with Glock's Romanov, went pretty good for first time," Hans Peter tweeted.
