Two new Dutch horses have been entered to compete at the 2013 CDIO Aachen this week. With the sale of Laurens van Lieren's Hexagon's Wellnetta a spot opened up on the Dutch team that will compete in the Nations' Cup competition in Aachen.

Laurens van Lieren is able to replace that vacant Dutch spot with one of his own Grand Prix horse, Ulysses La Haya (by Gribaldi). Van Lieren has been setting a very high pace showing Ulysses between March and June 2013 at no less than seven international competitions. So far he's done 's Hertogenbosch, Doha, Hagen, Vidauban, Arnhem, and Rotterdam. Aachen begins next Wednesday.

Hans Peter Minderhoud has been entered last minute to compete the Oldenburg licensed stallion Romanov (by Rohdiamant x Grundstein II) in the CDI 4*. In order to be eligble to compete at the 2013 European Championships in Herning, Aachen would be Minderhoud's last chance to obtain the necessary qualification score before the 3 July cut-off date.

The former Dutch Olympian still needs his second 64% score from an O-judge at two different events. So far he has competed the bay stallion successfully at the CDI Villach, where he got 70.681% in the Grand Prix and earned two 70% plus O-judge scores, and at the CDI Arnhem, where the horse finished on 64.085% but with no score above 64% from the two O-judges there.
