Norwegian Grand Prix rider Trude Hestengen has lost her young horse and licensed breeding stallion Tobajo Pik Disney II after a freak accident in his stall yesterday evening.
Tobajo Pik Disney II caught his hing leg between the bars of his stall. Although he was able to free himself he fractured his leg in two places and was put down on the spot.
"We are very shocked by what happened and we are trying to overcome this bad time now," said Trude's fiance and trainer Lasse Kasparek Fredriksen. "Many thanks go to the staff at Strandagergaard which acted swiftly and professionally."
Bred by Tormod Bakke Johnsen, the 4-year old Norwegian warmblood stallion (by Tobajo Picez x Walt Disney) was recently approved with the Norwegian warmblood society scoring a record mark of 10 for rideability. He was a full brother to Pik Disney I, who is currently being campaigned at Grand Prix level.
