Colts Ideaal D and Izaak were the best selling foals at the 2013 KWPN Foal Auctions taking place in Maren-Kessel and Dronten, The Netherlands, on Saturday 14 September 2013.
At the Maren-Kessel auction Ideaal D (by Jazz x Ferro) sold for the top knock down price of 28,000 euro. In Your Face (by Charmeur x Matterhorn) sold for 24,000 euro. The filly Irina (by Everdale x Havidoff) sold for 18,000 euro. Forty-six foals in total were presented at this auction and the average price for a foal was approximately 6,000 euro.
At the foal auction in Dronten the top knock down price was 14,000 euro, which clients paid for the colt Izaak (by Zhivago x Highline). The second most expensive foal was Ignado Rijk, a Dream Boy x Tolando colt, which sold for 12,000 euro. Forty-five foals were offered for sale at the Dronten auction and only two sold for more than 10,000 euro. The average price in Dronten was 4,613 euro.
