Biscaya, Price Highlight of the 2013 Oldenburg Autumn Elite Auction

The 3-year old reserve Bundeschampion Biscaya OLD (by Bordeaux x Quattro B x Grandeur) became the price highlight of the 2013 Oldenburg Autumn Elite Auction in Vechta, Germany, on Saturday 5 October 2013.

The Monaco based Bernadette Brune, who runs the huge equestrian centre Domaine Equestre des Grands Pins in Vidauban, France, acquired the dark bay mare for 300,000 euro. Biscaya is also a state premium mare which won the regional Oldenburg championship and finished in the Brilliant Ring at the 2013 Oldenburg Elite Mare Show in Rastede in June.

For the second time in his career Sohn der Sonne was put up for auction in Vechta. The liver chestnut Swedish licensed stallion by Sir Donnerhall I x Sion x Pik Bube  initially sold for 100,000 euro to the Swedish Andersson family at the 2010 Vechta Spring Elite Auction. Today, three years later, the beautiful stallion sold for 150,000 euro to Anatoli and Regina Isachkina from Russia. Russian buyers also bought Die wette (by San Amour x De Niro x Plaisir d'Amour) for 57,500 euro, Christiantis (by Christ x Rubin Royal x Lord Sinclair) for 55,000 euro,  Querello R (by Quaterback x Weltmeyer x Hill Hawk xx) for 47,000 euro and Shorena (by Sir Donnerhall II x Rotspon x Weltmeyer) for 20,000 euro.

The third most expensive horse of the auction was Firefox O (by Fidertanz x Donnerhall x Bolero). Gestut Bon Homme acquired him for 100,000 euro.

Loyal Vechta customer Lone Boegh Henriksen from Denmark purchased Holly Simensen's Emperadora (by Sir Donnerhal I x Feiner Stern x Figaro) for 70,000 euro. The bay gelding Szenario (by San Amour x Royal Dance) moves to Canada for 45,000 euro.

Quite a lot of horses move to the U.S.A. : Oliver Twist (by Okeanos x Don Gregory) for 22,000 euro, St. Ferryman (by Sir Donnerhall I x Figaro x Harnisch) sold for 50,000 euro to Friends' producer Marta Kauffman, Ramba Zamba RT (by Quintender x Lovis Corinth) sold for 43,000 euro, Zuccarello (by Zack x Donatelli) for 30,000 euro to Jamie White Welling, Finn (by Furst Piccolo x Donnerhall) for 40,000 euro and Shiva Nova (by Stalypso x Lennon) for 22,000 euro.

The best selling jumper was premium stallion Curo (by Cornado x Padarco x Espri) which switched owners for 55,000 euro.

The top selling foal in the collection was the colt Alpha Centauri (by All Inclusive x Sandro Hit x Lavauzelle AA). Hessian clients acquired it for 35,000 euro. Hamburg dressage clients bought colt Christofferus (by Christ x Danone I x Espri) for 25,500 euro. 

The average price for a sport horse at this auction was 43,086 euro. The average price for a foal was 9,815 euro.
