Dutch Grand Prix rider Marcel Schoenmakers and the Glock Horse Performance Center in Villach, Austria, have parted ways. The 50-year old Dutch rider was the head dressage trainer at Gaston and Kathrin Glock's equestrian centre in Austria.
Schoenmakers started working at the Glock Horse Performance Cente in June 2010 and was the head dressage trainer, as well as manager of the yard. He also suggested horses to buy and under his supervision horses such as Grandioso, Federleicht and Ziesto were acquired.
The past three years Schoenmakers competed Ziesto at M-level, Federleicht and Warana at small tour level and Flirt de Lully and Grandioso at Grand Prix level. Marcel mainly showed his horses at CDI's in the south of Europe, including at international shows at Caselle di Sommacampagne, Fritzens, Kaposvar, Stadl Paura, and Vidauban.
In the summer of 2013 Schoenmakers confirmed he was seeking to switch to the Austrian nationality.
The Glock Horse Performance Centre was very brief on mentioning the reasons for Schoenmakers departure and stated that "as of February 2014 he will go his own way."
