
Foals were selling at modest prices at the 2014 Bavarian Elite Foal Auction in Munich-Riem on Saturday 13 September 2014. The price highlight sold for 11,500 euro.
Two colts sold for the highest knock down price of 'only' 11,500 euro: a bay colt by Franiskus x Rivero II and a dark bay colt by Dante Weltino x Ragazzo. The Franziskus colt sold to Georg Albert who is based near Munich, and the Dante Weltino stallion prospect sold to Maria Wadenspanner, who bid for a client.
These foals were the only two selling for more than 10,000 euro. The second best selling foal was a bay colt by For Romance x Rivero II, which sold for 8,700 euro to the Bavarian state stud Schwaiganger. A bay filly by Don Juan de Hus x Lacantus sold for 8,400 euro.
The average price for a foal was 4,804 euro which is significantly lower than at the auctions in North Germany.
