Finnish photographer Risto Aaltonen was on the scene at the 2014 British Dressage Championships at Stoneleigh Park on Sunday 21 September 2014 to capture photos of the Grand Prix freestyle Finals. The 27-year old Michael Eilberg claimed his first national Grand Prix title aboard his father's 14-year old Marakov (by Rufs x Mitjulands), edging out Carl Hester on Fine Time.
"I'm over the moon. It's an incredible feeling today, going in so tight with Carl there," said Eilberg about his Kur victory and national title with Marakov. "The test that he did today. When he came out today, no matter what the outcome I would have been absolutely thrilled with him."
Eilberg was thrilled with his Kur to Music, which was based on Transformers' music. "The whole thing just flowed. You can almost relaxed into and it almost feels like you are riding at home," he said.
