The American Hanoverian bred filly Quartet GSH and the Oldenburg colt Figawi 121 took highest honour in the USDF Foal Final and USDF Foal Championship at the annual Devon Breed Show which took place this year on 22 - 24 September 2014.
Fourteen foals were selected to contest the USDF Current Year Foal Final, which was judged by Ka'awaloa and Janet Foy.
Presented by the Swedish Michael Bragdell and bred and owned by Michelle Reilly, the American Hanoverian Quartet GSH (by Qredit (by Quaterback) out of an elite mare by Arrian, scored the highest total of 85.850 points and received the champion's sash.
The reserve champion as the German Hanoverian branded colt Rembrahnt (by Rotspon x Wolkentanz I). Bred by Angela Mirarchi and presented by Bendan Curtis, the black Rembrahnt scored 82.100 points.
The German Hanoverian branded Damaskus (by Don Principe x Ramiro's Bube) completed the top three with 81.050 points. This chestnut colt is bred and owned by U.S. Grand Prix rider Catherine Haddad Staller and was presented in Devon by Quinnten Alston.
The 2014 Devon Breed Show also had a "Foal Championship" class which was won by Cara Kettenbach's Oldenburg colt Figawi 121 (by Foundation out of Simply Red (by Sandro Song), bred at Broadfields 121. Figawi 121 edged out the Final winner Quartet GSH for the Devon Foal Championship title.
