Five newly designed shortened versions of the Grand Prix test will be ridden and assessed at a stakeholders' meeting in Warendorf, Germany, on 19 February 2015.
The FEI Dressage Committee is going full steam ahead on finding a new short Grand Prix test, caving in to the pressure of the television media and the (non equestrian) demand to popularize the dressage sport.
The DC confirmed that the shortened version "was looked into in order for the sport to remain in the Olympic movement."
A date has been set for 19 February 2015 and the German Equestrian Federation head quarters in Warendorf as location, where these five different versions of a shortened Grand Prix test will be tried out. Each test will be ridden three times by different horses.
"It was proposed that the number of people invited from the Stakeholder groups and NFs should as far as practical be as open as possible. There should be only one speaker per group for the discussion afterwards," the FEI Dressage Committee decided
No judging will be needed for the tests, as the versions will be testing on timing and floorplan.
The original date set for the test event was 23 January 2015 but Warendorf had no availability then so the event has been moved to 19 February 2015.
