Jochen Vetters' 11-year old German Sporthorse gelding Eliot (by Expose x Chico S T x Traum) has been sold to Essen based amateur FEI rider Uta Kröger-Ruck.
Bred by Karl Heinz Viezens and owned by the Berlin based Peter Brenske, the grey gelding Eliot was started as a youngster by Peggy Isufi. In the summer of 2008 Alexandra Sessler took over the ride and competed him for two years up to M-level. In 2010 Eliot was campaigned by Natalie Soujon up to Prix St Georges level.
When owner Brenske moved from Munich to Berlin, Eliot changed stables and came in training with Jochen Vetters. The duo competed for the first time in May 2012 at Prix St Georges level and made their transitional to national Grand Prix level in October 2013. The duo never showed internationally, but was successful at national level winning the Grand Prix in Dresden Gompitz in August 2014 with around 70% scores.
The 72-year old Ute Kröger-Rück recently retired by selling her very successful furniture business (Möbel Kröger and Möbelstadt Rück) for an eight digit figure.
Kröger-Ruck has been a very dedicated dressage rider who had her fair share of bad horse deals in an attempt to find a suitable equine partner. After being successfull nationally on the Bavarian Grand Prix horse Rauko (by Raueck), Kröger-Rück has been searching for a successor for the past four years. The Rhinelander stallion Dream of Heidelberg II became lame almost immediately after purchasing it. It took a two year court fight to settle the case. She also acquired Martin Schaudt's Despino (by De Niro x Wolkentanz I) in 2012 but the horse sustained a career ending injury.
Kröger-Rück now hopes to make a big come back with Eliot. She is trained by Thomas Schmitz.
