Don Rouge Royal (by Don Frederico x Rotspon x Glückspilz) was named champion of the 2015 Austrian Warmblood Stallion Licensing in Stadl Paura, Austria, last weekend.
Bred by Petra Biebrich and owned by Agyd Pengg, the 5-year old liver chestnut was presented at the licensing by dressage rider Stephanie Dearing.
The reserve champion was the 5-year old show jumper Cäsar (by Curriculo x Wanderbursche x Winterwald), bred and owned by Stefan Ehammer. He was last year's Stallion Performance Test winner.
The older stallions Lamborghini (by Hyllos x Tarim), a Trakehner Grand Prix stallion under Catherine Michelfeit, and Fabuolo (by Florencio x Feiner Stern) were accepted for Austrian breeding.
Amongst the younger stallions only one dressage colt was acknowledged by the licensing committee as a great prospect for the Stallion Performance Testing. Magdalena Nagl's premium stallion Diplomant N (by Diamond Hit x Lux As x Waldherr) stood out.
