The Trakehner licensed breeding stallion Hirtentanz has been sold to Joe Pimentel of Aqua Farms in Panama City, Florida, U.S.A. The black stallion will stay in Germany for the remainer of the year before relocating to the U.S.A.
The 11-year old Hirtentanz is bred by Veronika von Schöning and has been standing at stud in Germany at stallion station Kretschmer. He is by the Grand Prix dressage stallion Axis TSF out of state premium mare Herziani (by Kostolany x Ginster) . He was previously owned by David Beattie of KD Trakehners in the U.S.A.
Hirtentanz was the best Trakehner foal in 2003 at the regional foal show in Schleswig Holstein. After he got approved as a 2,5 year he started his career in show jumping and has been trained and competed up to S-level in jumping.
Despite his own show jumping Hirtentanz is also producing dressage horses. So far he has sired five licensed offspring, including Tarison, Durrenmatt, Abendtanz and Ehrentanz.
Joe Pimentel owns the Trakehner licensed stallion Buddenbrock and has now added Hirtentanz to his collection.
"I would like to buy the finest Elite Trakehner stallion available for North American breeders and I've always liked Hirtentanz," Pimentel told Eurodressage. "He is producing good offspring for the US hunter jumper market, and he holds the highest duel Jumping/Dressage index of any Trakehner stallion now in Germany, so maybe he will be good with Thoroughbred mares for eventing offspring."
