A 3-year old bay Boreas (by Bordeaux x De Niro x Rubinstein) was named champion of the 2015 Oldenburg Saddle Licensing in Vechta on 10 April 2015.
Bred by Heinrich Gerriets and owned by Petar Perkovic, this bay gelding made a normal impression in hand but excelled under saddle ridden by David Taylor. Perkovic acquired the champion as a foal in Vechta at the elite auction.
The reserve champion was the 3-year old Amphytrion (by Ampere x Rosario x Likoto xx), bred by Martin Otten and owned by Ina Schlömer.
Both the champion and reserve champion will be up for auction in the 2015 Vechta Spring Elite Auction on 11 April 2015. Both descend from the same dame line of Grossen Liebe, which also produced Grand Prix horse Pikko del Cerro HU.
The third ranked stallion in the premium ring was a 3-year old colt by August der Starke x Royal Dance x Figaro, bred and owned by Gero Wanner. This horse is related to the 2013 Oldenburg Licensing champion Don Deluxe.
The Oldenburg stallion licensing commitee approved 6 of the 14 presented stallions (our of a collection of 18 that was selected for the licensing). The other approved colts are by Ampere x Donnerschwee (Gerd Sosath), a Bordeaux x De Niro (Julia Wentscher), and a Totilas x Sandro Hit (Anna Charles, POR).
