Belarussian Hanna Karasiova dominated the 2015 CDI Minsk on 6 - 19 April 2015 winning all two small tour classes aboard her 7-year old Zodiak and the Grand Prix Kur to Music on her 9-year old Arlekino. Both her horses are bred and purchased in Latvia and have been trained up the levels by Karasiova.
“I started in horse sports at the age of ten in the state riding school in Ratomka, Belarus, which houses the Republican Centre of Olympic training for Equestrian Sports and Horse Breeding. Since 2015 I have been a member of the National Equestrian Team,” said 31-year old Hanna.
Aboard the 7-year old Latvian warmblood Zodiak (by Zidane Velvet x Arulis), Hanna took the Intermediaire I and Intermediate I kur with 68.579% and 71.825%. She is particularly proud of her horse as he has been with her since he was 3. With her 9-year old Arlekino (by Aromats x Gudvils) she was fifth in the Grand Prix with 64.660% and won the Kur with 70.925%. Arlekino has been her partner of 7 years and did his first Grand Prix test in September 2014 in Moscow and is still quite new at the level.
"I was delighted with our win in the Kur with 70.925%," said Hanna. "Arlekino is a quite complicated horse in training, very impulsive. On the other hand Zodiac is easy in his work, obedient, and willing.”
Currently training at the Olympic Centre and at the private Stable Piaffe by herself, Hanna plans to go to Russian Inessa Merkulova (née Poturaeva) for training later this year. Hanna always scouts for horses in Latvia and has nine in training, all from there.
“In the next few months I plan to enter the competition in Ryazan and then go to train with Inessa Poturaeva. Then I'll head to the CDI-W in Nizhny Novgorod and Brno," she said about her show plans for 2015. "My goal is to take part in the 2015 European Championships in Aachen.”
