One of Denmark's highly successful young dressage horses, Svalegards Hottie, has started a new life as brood mare. Hottie sustained a sport career-ending injury and owner Blue Hors returned her to the breeder.
Svalegards Hottie is bred by Else Marie and Jens Christian Krabbe family in Thy, Denmark and is by Hotline out of a De Noir x Akinos dam. She won the Blue Hors Championships as a 3-year old and sold to Blue Hors stud right afterwards.
She earned the silver medal as a 3-year old mare and was trained in dressage by Blue Hors' head trainer at the time, Maria Anita Andersen. As a 4-year old she as 5th at the 2012 Danish Young Horse Championships. As a 5-year old she won the 2013 Danish Young Horse Championships in Odense and was second at the 2013 Danish Warmblood young horse championships in Herning.
Hottie's career highlight was a fourth place finish at the 2014 World Young Horse Championships in Verden, Germany. As a 6-year old she was unable to make such a big splash again in Verden and finished sixth in the consolation finals.
The Krabbe family is ecstatic to have been given the opportunity to buy back Hottie after she got injured. The Krabbes had sold the dam and no longer had Hottie's bloodline available at their yard. The dark bay mare is now in foal to the Oldenburg licensed Zalabaster (by Zack x Alabaster).
