The Marbach State Stud owned Baden Wurttemberger licensed stallion Fleiner passed away at the graceful age of 29. The black stallion bred until 2014 and spent his last year in retirement at Gestütshofs St. Johann.

Fleiner was bred by August Föhr and was by Flirt out of a Grande x Argus x Matrose x Duellant dam. He was born in 1986.

He was discovered as a foal by Marbach state stud manager Wolfgang Cranz, who reared him in Marbach and presented him at the 1989 Marbach Stallion Licensing where Fleiner became a premium stallion.  He completed his stallion performance test with an index of 127.11 points, the second highest score out of 36 participating stallions. He had a dressage index of 125.40 (5/36) and a jumping index of 127.18 (2/36). He was trained and competed up to S-level in show jumping by Helmut Hartmann.

Fleiner was never a popular breeding stallion in the twenty-five years that he stood up for stud. His old fashioned looks made him unattractive to breeders and he sired only 273 foals in total in his entire life. However, his offspring became known for being very uncomplicated, rideable horses that were willing to work and had a golden character and steady temperament.

He sired one State Premium Mare and 62 offspring were registered as sport horses in Germany, the majority of them as show jumpers.
