Peter Storr's retired international small tour horse Wild Dancer has passed away on 21 August 2015. The Hanoverian stallion was 19 years old.
"Very sadly I had to say good bye to my beautiful chestnut stallion Wild Dancer," Storr stated. "He was probably the most beautiful horse I'd ever seen with a temperament to die for."
Wild Dancer was a 1996 born Hanoverian stallion, sired by Wolkentanz I out of a Ganymed x Pascha dam. Wild Dancer came into Storr's life when the stallion was a 2-year old.
The pair represented Great Britain at the 2001 World Young Horse Championships in Verden, Germany, where they finished 19th in the 5-year old preliminary test with a score of 7.2. In 2002 they won the FEI 6-year old test at the national show in Hickstead.
Internationally they competed at small tour level and contested the small tour classes at the prestigious 2004 CDIO Aachen, the 2004 CDIO Hickstead, the 2005 CDIO Rotterdam, the 2006 CDI Hartpury and the 2006 CDIO Hickstead.
"He won numerous national titles and international wins and was probably most famous for his Aachen ride in the hail storm," said Storr. "He retired early and spent his last years at home in the field."
