Norbert Timm has been proclaimed Trakehner Breeder of the Year 2015 and was honoured at the 2015 Trakehner Stallion Licensing in Neumunster, Germany, during the gala evening on Friday 16 October 2015.
Timm founded Gestut Hohenschmark in Grebin, Germany, ten years ago and developed his yard into a leading stud and brood farm.
In 2014 Timm celebrated his biggest breeding success with Sir Sansibar (by Millennium) becoming the Trakehner Licensing Champion and Zikade (by Singolo) the Bundeschampion of the 4-year old mares and geldings. Norbert Timm has also bred the Trakehner mare Donaublaume, who was the winner of the central mare show in Schleswig-Holstein that year.
In 2015 four horses which were either bred, reared or owned by Timm made their claim to fame: Zikade, Herakles, Bella Vista and Vapiano. Zikade competed at the World Young Horse Championships and Heraklas won the young horse class at the CDI Perl.
