Spanish Beatriz Ferrer-Salat captured her second World Cup qualifier victory in a row at the 2015 CDI-W Stuttgart, Germany, on 19 - 22 November 2015. Aboard Delgado she swept the Grand Prix and Kur to Music with 83.300%. Isabell Werth was the runner-up on Don Johnson, but with her rising Grand Prix horse Emilio she claimed the Special tour and became the "German Master" for the 12th time in her career.
It was the third year in a row that Werth won the Grand Prix Special at the CDI Stuttgart and the twelfth time in her career that she won the German Masters, a title just connected to winning in Stuttgart.
Aboard her young Grand Prix horse Emilio, a 9-year old Westfalian gelding by Ehrenpreis out of Bella Rose's dam (by Cacir AA), Isabell scored 75.620 % in the Grand Prix and 77.824% in the Special.
"He is very smart and always want to right. In both these moments in fact I actually fell a little bit asleep myself," Werth explained. "A lot of horses here in Stuttgart have problem with the atmosphere and the advertisement banners, so I was warned and didn't take full risk. Still everything went smoothly and very dynamically. I'm very enthused by this horse."
Former young rider and 2014 Piaff Forderpreis U25 winner Charlott Maria Schurmann is really stepping up her game and is beginning to prove herself as a force to be reckoned with amongst the German seniors in the lead up to the 2016 Rio Olympics. On her gorgeous liver chestnut Hanoverian stallion Burlington (by Breitling x Rohdiamant) the 23-year old student of Klaus Balkenhol was third (73.660%) and second (74.392%).
"I was quite nervous beforehand, but Burlington took away my nerves. I have been riding him for six and a half years and this was our first Special test in such a surrounding," said Schurmann. "Burlington really fought for me."
