British Judge and Rider Isobel Wessels to Coach New Zealand Eventers

British judge and dressage rider Isobel Wessels has been appointed to coach the New Zealand high performance squad eventers on the road to Rio. She will also be a clinician at the 2016 New Zealand Dressage Championships for dressage riders and judges.

Isobel Wessels is an international 5* judge and top competitor who has trained riders all over the world. Isobel has trained many horses to grand prix level and has won 10 national titles in the United Kingdom aboard her current star Chagall.

Isobel has worked with Eventing Team New Zealand for some years, starting with squad trainings at Hartpury. She has personally trained Jonelle and Tim Price for a few years and she will be coaching the Eventing High Performance Squads through to Rio as their specialist Dressage trainer.

Wessels is traveling to New Zealand in February 2016 just prior to and during the Dressage Nationals. She will be speaking on the first day at Tielcey Park in Palmerston North on 3 February 2016 and will then go to Manfield Park in Fielding (NZ Championships) on 4 - 5 February 2016. 

The topic of discussion on the first day with be coaching theory and a masterclass. At Manfield Park she'll focus on judging, reviewing and assessing live-tests with “break-out” sessions on 4 February and reviewing and assessing the Grand Prix on 5 February.  These two days are targeted at judges but open to coaches and riders that have registered.
