German Olympic dressage rider Hubertus Schmidt is expanding his string of FEI horses with yet another licensed breeding stallion, Illuminati S, a son of his current number one Grand Prix horse Imperio.

The 6-year old Bavarian licensed stallion Illuminati S (by Imperio x Furst Heinrich x Wellington ) has moved to Schmidt's Fleyenhof stable in Borchen, Germany.

Illuminati S is owned by the Schwaiganger State Stud in Bavaria and stud managar Eberhard Senckenberg approached Schmidt at the CDI Munich Indoors last month to discuss the further training of the bay stallion. After a test period at Fleyenhof, Schmidt decided to keep the young stallion in his barn.

"He's a very elastic horse, just like his sire Imperio. He has much basic quality and a very good character. I like him," Schmidt explained.

Under Friederike Schulz-Wallner Illuminati S became the 5-year old South German Young Horse Champion in Nordlingen and was approved for breeding at the Marbach Saddle Licensing.

Hubertus Schmidt is currently competing breeding stallions Imperio, Florenciano, and Estobar.
