At their annual general assembly on 22 December 2015 the Spanish Equestrian Federation (RFHE) determined the dates and locations for the 2016 Spanish Dressage Championships across the levels.
The board of the RFHE stressed the importance of especially the Olympic disciplines of dressage and show jumping for the equestrian sport in Spain. The technical boards will be making extra efforts to support riders in the 2016 Olympic year.
The board wants to work more on the modernization of the sport for horse and rider across the levels for all disciplines. The Assembly approved the budget of 5,6 million euro to support equestrian competition sport in Spain.
At the Assembly it was decided that Valencia will be hosting the Spanish Young Horse and Youth Riders Championships in 2016. The youth riders will contest their Nationals on 1 - 4 September; the young horses will convene on 21 - 25 September 2016.
The location for the Spanish Grand Prix Championships has not yet been announced but the date has been set for 1 - 5 June 2016.
