Van Zwambagt and Nieuwenhuis Win First Leg of KNHS Junior-Young Riders Cup in Nieuw en St. Joosland

2015-2016 KNHS Junior-Young Riders Cup

Junior rider Febe van Zwambagt and Young Rider Jeanine Nieuwenhuis were the winners of the first leg of the KNHS Junior-Young Riders Cup held at equestrian centre De Kroo in Nieuw en St. Joosland, The Netherlands, on Tuesday 29 December 2015. Both the junior and young rider division were judged by M. Boomaars, M. Bosch-Bril and V. Lindemann.

The panel of judges put Febe van Zwambagt on her German bred FS Las Vegas (by Lord Loxley) at the top of the leader board in the junior category with a strong 72.39%. The runner-up, Diana van de Bovenkamp on the Dutch bred Corvette (by Rhodium) followed in a distance with 69.82%. Veronique van der Panne and her KWPN bred Boy Bentley (by Johnson) landed third place with 67.97%.

In the young riders division Jeanine Nieuwenhuis and the KWPN gelding TC Athene (by United) continued their winning streak after sweeping a hattrick at the 2015 CDI Roosendaal Indoor at the beginning of December. Nieuwenhuis scored 72.11% to win the Young Riders test and was the only one to crack the 70% barrier. Lotte Meulendijks and her professor, the 19-year old Ohio (by Indoctro), finished second with 69.69% while Lisanne Zoutendijk and her liver chestnut Watteau (by Jazz) slotted in third with 68.77%.
