The 10-year old Westfalian mare Rosalie B has been sold to the Bechtolsheimer family as Rio Olympic hopeful and Grand Prix horse for daughter Laura Tomlinson. The mare switched ownership before the January 15 Rio ownership deadline.
Rosalie B is bred and was owned by Laura's coach Klaus Balkenhol. She is considered one of Germany's most promising developing Grand Prix horses.
Rosalie B is by Rubin Royal out of Nordmaid (by Newcastle x Diamantino) and full sister to Anabel Balkenhol's Grand Prix horse Rockefeller's Cinderella, with whom she won the Hamburg Dressage Derby.
The flashy dark bay Rosalie B was first competed by Balkenhol's former assistant trainer Vera Nass. Later on Anabel Balkenhol took over the ride and competed her in several international CDI shows at small tour level. She was second in the 2014 CDI Roosendaal Indoor Prix St Georges. They were also successfull at the CDI's in Cappeln, Hagen, Münster and Nieuw en St. Joosland.
Rosalie B did her first Grand Prix at the 2015 CDI Perl-Borg in the Louisdor Cup qualifier. She finished second in the Inter II but lost points in the Short Grand Prix when the mare spooked and finished 11th.
Tomlinson made her show debut on Rosalie B at the 2016 CDI Wellington in the 3* Grand Prix on Wednesday 10 February 2016. The pair finished 7th with 67.900 %
