The Danish national anthem sounded the first time just after 3.00 pm on Wednesday 20 April 2015 at Hof Kasselmann, where the 2016 Horses & Dreams Meets Denmark kicked off the 2016 CDI outdoor show season in Germany. Allan Gron and Blue Hors stud's Zick Flower won the CDI1* Prix St. Georges, Prize of the company Schmidt Zoo & Garten. Gron rides for the host country of Horses & Dreams meets Denmark.
Allan Gron, who represented the Danish stud Blue Hors in Hagen, scored 72.605% aboard the 8-year old Danish bred Zick Flower (by Zack x Romanov). The rider was ecstatic with his victory: xThis is perfect, almost impossible to top.“ Zick Flower already competed at the FEI World Breeding Championships for five- and six-year-old dressage horses. “The stallion is pretty cool, and I am completely happy about this success,” said the 34-year-old Danish rider.
Gron finished first in a field 28 outstanding competitors of which no less than 14 scored over 69%. The 18-year-old Jil Marielle Becks who will be awarded the Golden Rider’s Badge on Saturday at Horses & Dreams, finished second with the 8-year-old Damon’s Satelite (by Damon Hill x Rubin Royal). The rider from Senden earned a final score of 72.421 with her “Little Dami”.
German Olympic team champion Helen Langehanenberg saddled the 8-year old Holsteiner mare Annabelle (by Conteur x Linaro) and finished third with 72.316%. The world's number 5 on the FEI rankings, Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, landed fourth place on the 11-year old Hanoverian gelding Dante’s Peak (by Dimaggio x Wolkentanz) with 72.132%
Danish Daniel Bachmann Andersen rounded out the top five. He scored 71.921% aboard Blue Hors stud's 8-year old Dutch warmblood stallion Don Olymbrio (by Jazz x Ferro).
