Four horses - the 5-year olds Victoria's Secret, Florenz, and Frank Sinatra, and the 6-year old Deluxe - became the winners of the Bundeschampionate qualification classes held at equestrian centre Massener Heide in Unna-Massen on 29 - 30 April 2016.
In the 5-year old division judges Knut Danzberg, Peter Mannheims and Christian Wendel were in a good mood as they gave no less than 13 horses a score of 8.0 or higher which made them qualify directly for the 2016 Bundeschampionate in Warendorf. The 5-year old division was a big one with 38 combinations competing. Therefore the class was split up into two groups.
The winner of group one was Beatrice Buchwald aboard Rhenania Pferde's Rhinelander mare Victoria's Secret. The liver chestnut Vitalis x Fidermark offspring was the high scorer of all 5-year olds and won group 1 with 8.6. The mare earned 9.5 for trot, 9 for walk, 8 for canter and submission and 8.5 for general impression. Heiner Schiergen and the Westfalian gelding Eyecatcher (by Estobar x Furst Piccolo) were second with 8.3. The chestnut scored 8.5 for walk and trot, 8 for canter and submission and 8.5 for general impression. The pair tied in second place with Andreas Senge on the Oldenburg stallion Radisson (by Rock Forever x Sevillano xx). The dark bay stallion got 8.5 for walk, trot and canter, 7.5 for submission and 8.5 for general impression.
There were two winners in group two with a total of 8.4. Lukas Fischer's Hanoverian stallion Florenz (by Florencio x Sandro Hit) got 8.5 for trot, 8 for walk, 9 for canter, 8 for submission and 8.5 for general impression. Helen Langehanenberg, who was commuting between Unna-Massen and Mannheim to compete at two dressage shows on the same weekend, steered Frank Sinatra (by Fidertanz x Louis le Bon) to victory with 8.5 for trot and canter, 8 for walk, and 8.5 for submission and general impression.
In the 6-year old division Laura Blackert-Stigler steered the dark bay Rhinelander mare Deluxe (by Don Primus x Wolkentanz II) to victory with 8.5. Blackert and Anja Walterscheidt's Deluxe scored 9 for trot, 7.5 for walk, 8.5 for canter, 9 for submission and 8.5 for general impression. Heiner Schiergen and the Westfalian gelding Damon's Classic (by Damon Hill x Lauries Crusador xx) slotted in second with 8.2. The bay gelding scored 8.5 for trot and canter, 7.5 for walk, 8 for submission and 8.5 for general impression.
