Juniors Rothenberger and Michels Win on Kur Day at 2016 CDIO-PJYR Hagen

On Sunday 12 June 2016 the final dressage tests were held in the two arenas at Future Champions 2016 CDIO-PJYR Hagen at Hof Kasselmann. The German riders again presented excellent performances, like they already had the previous days, leaving their competitors – with a few exceptions – behind. Junior riders Semmieke Rothenberger and Luca Michels won the trophies on Sunday.

Semmieke Rothenberger demonstrated in the saddle of her 9-year-old Don Crusador-daughter Dissertation once more her quality. The rider from Bad Homburg presented a new freestyle in the CDIO-J Junior Rider freestyle final, presented by the Liselott and Klaus Rheinberger-Foundation, and scored a winning 79.125%.

“It is the first time that we ride our new freestyle and I am completely satisfied,” explained the 16-year-old rider who had only received her freestyle music on Thursday. “I have practised the track the last three weeks – it was a debut today in combination with music.“

Hannah Erbe from Krefeld with Carlos (77.417%) and Rebecca Horstmann from Ganderkesee with Friend of mine (74.500%) followed on the next places. The junior riders from Germany outpaced once again the Danish trio Camilla Andersen, Karoline Rohmann and Celine Rorbaek Silfen.

The victory in the freestyle final of the CDI-Tour for junior riders, presented by Ascot Reitsportartikel, went to Luca Michels from Heimbach (75.83%), ahead of Maike Mende from Nordwalde (74.625%) and Alexa Westendarp (74.58%) from Wallenhorst. They were followed by Danish Anne Mette Lyager (72%).
