The KWPN-NA licensed breeding stallion and Grand Prix dressage horse Hexagon's Louisville, also known as Labo, has passed away on 10 July 2016. The bay stallion was 23 years old.
Louisville was bred in The Netherlands by J. Wouters and owned by American Karin Offield. He was by Burggraaf out of keur mare Wenda (by Vesins xx x Dirigent). The stallion was approved for breeding for the German Oldenburg society, the Rhineland Pfalz-Saar society and the KWPN-NA Register B.
Leunis Van Lieren acquired Labo as a 4-year old and trained him up to Grand Prix. Under the name Louisville he won bronze at the 2003 Dutch Indoor Championships, 12th at the 2003 Dutch Outdoor Championships and became a member of the 2004 Dutch B-Team. The stallion competed at a few European shows including the CDI's in Rotterdam Berlin, Kaposvar, Saumur, Mesikon, and others.
In 2004 Louisville sold to Karin Offield in the U.S.A. and the horse moved to the U.S.A. a year later. In 2006, Louisville won the prestigious USDF Amateur Grand Prix Horse of the Year and the USDF All Breeds (KWPN-NA) Amateur Grand Prix Horse of the Year with scores over 65%. He was invited to compete at the 2006 USEF National Grand Prix Freestyle Championships where he finished sixth in the Grand Prix and eight in the Grand Prix Freestyle.
Louisville had a career ending injury and returned to Holland to stand at stud at Van Lieren's yard in 2009. His most famous offspring include Grand Prix horses Welnetta (Katherine Bateson-Chandler) and Zondinde (Thamar Zweistra) and small tour horses Wonderella (Thamar Zweistra), Bon Ami (Allison Brock) and Annabella (Dinja van Liere).
