German Christina Boos will not be competing her top youngster Blickfang HC at the 2016 Bundeschampionate. The rider fractured her arm in a fall off her horse and had to be operated on.

While training Blickfang at her yard Gut Weiglschwaig in Schorndorf, Germany Christina fell off her chestnut when he spooked. Boos fractured her arm and was immediately transported to the hospital where she was operated for this humeral fracture. She will not be able to climb back in the saddle for at least three months.

"We are very sad as Blickfang was going super well and we had good promises for the Bundeschampionate," explained Christina's husband Ulrich Boos. "We're looking forward and onwards so that Blickfang can show his potential in the 6-year old division next year. He has all the potential for that."

Boos acquired Blickfang HC in January 2016. The 5-year old Hanoverian gelding is by Belissimo M x Brentano II x Partisan and is
bred by Theodor Linnenbäumer. He was previously owned by Belgian Anemone Samyn of HC Stables. Under Wibke Hartmann-Stommel the chestnut gelding won the
2015  Hanoverian Young Horse Championships in Verden, Germany, and placed fourth at the 2015 Bundeschampionate.
