The Danish warmblood stallion Skovens Rafael has been the most popular dressage breeding stallion in Sweden in 2016. The liver chestnut stallion was bred to 168 Swedish owned mares this year.
In Frebruary 2016 the Danish owned 12-year old elite Danish warmblood licensed stallion Skovens Rafael (by Romanov x Don Schufro) moved to Jan Brink's Tullstorp stable for the 2016 breeding season. The stallion was injured at the time and had to take a break from competition.
A smart move as the Danish sire was bred to 168 mares in Sweden and was the undisputed leader in the dressage breeding rankings.
The second most used dressage stallion in Sweden was the Swedish owned 7-year old Dutch warmblood stallion Van Vivaldi (by Vivaldi x Olivi). Two stallions were bred to 63 mares: the 8-year old Dutch warmblood Dream Boy (by Vivaldi x Ferro) and the 9-year old Swedish warmblood Sibelius (by Rosevelt x Prestige).
The most used jumper stallion in Sweden in 2016 was Heartbeat with 173 coverings.
