The 2016 Louisdor Cup Finals - the German Developing Grand Prix Horse Championship - is set to begin at the 2016 CDI Frankfurt on Friday morning 16 December 2016. After a earlier replacement of Flynn by Sam's Ass, last weekend another substitution took place with Dilenzio dropping out and Sir Simon filling up to complete the field of Louisdor Cup Finalists.
Ursula Wagner, the only amateur dressage rider amongst the finalists, has been forced to drop out as her 9-year old Oldenburg gelding Dilenzio (by Duino x Weltmeyer x Pik Bube II x Elimar). The pair competed in Kreuth two weeks ago, where they won the Intermediaire II with almost 69% but they were forced to withdraw for the rest of the weekend. Dilenzio suffered from a bacterial infection which caused a fever.
Dilenzio is bred by Renate Renschen and owned by Tanja Heincke. The Assling based Wagner has been competing the liver chestnut since he was a 4-year old. Wagner and Dilenzio obtained their spot in the finals by winning the Munich qualifier in the spring.
With Dilenzio's withdrawal a slot opened up for Insa Hansen and Robinvale, but they declined. Ulla Salzgeber and her Westfalian bred Sir Simon (by Samarant) confirmed on 7 December that they will be substituting for Wagner.
