Canadian Grand Prix rider Christian Garweg will be joining the team of Jen Vanover's Maplewood Warmbloods as part of its onsite family after the Florida season in April 2017.
The 51-year old Garweg is a German born dressage trainer who was originally from Hamburg, but now based in Toronto, Canada. He has trained and competed successfully nationally and internationally through Grand Prix on horses such as Chancellor, Delorean, and Dynamica. He has been trained by Herbert Rehbein, Willi Schultheis, Udo Lange, Christilot Boylen, as well as late German team coach Holger Schmezer.
Jen Vanover's brood farm and stallion station Maplewood Warmbloods is located in Middletown, NY. Established in 2004, Maplewood warmbloods aims to produce "top class dressage sport horses via the collaboration of riders, officials, and organizations."
Vanover is said to be "incredibly excited to expand into a higher class and level of German training & showing. With Christian's background and experience, he and his business are the perfect fit and final piece to this vision's puzzle."
"I believe this will be a great collaboration," Garweg added. "I'm very excited about the pipeline of incredibly high quality horses at Maplewood Warmbloods. I am very happy to work again in an environment similar to Germany where top riders work out of the studs and have access to these quality horses."
