Danish Under 25 Grand Prix rider Anna Zibrandtsen has acquired the Dutch Olympic team horse Arlando from its Dutch owners' syndicate as her Danish team hopeful.

Arlando is a 12 -year old Dutch warmblood stallion by Paddox x Mytens xx. He is bred by A.J. van 't Klooster and is owned by the Both family in partnership with Siem Kat.

Under Diederik van Silfhout, the bay stallion has represented The Netherlands at the 2014 World Equestrian Games, 2015 European Championships and 2016 Olympic Games, winning team medals in 2014 and 2015. Van Silfhout has not yet competed Arlando in 2017. He twice scratched for the World Cup qualifiers in Amsterdam and 's Hertogenbosch due to small health issues.

In December 2016 Van Silfhout announced that he had secured the ride on Arlando for 2017, but this agreement did not last. The horse has now been sold to Zibrandtsen.

Denmark has acquired massive horse power the past few months with Agnete Kirk Thinggaard buying British Olympic team horse Atterupgaards Orthilia. Denmark's number one Cathrine Dufour has been achieving personal best scores over 75% in the Grand Prix in her two 2017 stars in Doha and Stockholm, setting up team Denmark for a very strong position with the 2017 European Championships in Gothenburg in sight.

"He fits me really well," Zibrandtsen told Eurodressage. "It feels like home on top on him! My plan is to get some experience in the big tour."

Zibrandtsen has done more big purchases of top horses in the past, including the KWPN bred Dorado, licensed stallion Detroit, and numerous highly priced auction horses
