The 20-year old Dutch young rider Marjan Hooge has received the ride on the Russian owned Grand Prix dressage horse Upperville.
Hooge is a highly experienced youth rider who has shown internationally from FEI pony level through Young Riders. She made her CDI debut as a 15-year old in 2012 on pony Diamonds Are Forever. That same year she also competed at international junior riders level on Fulltime, the horse which took her to the 2014 and 2015 European Junior Riders Championships. In 2016 she made the transition to Young Riders level on Jive. Her last CDI was in Hagen in June 2016.
The 16-year old KWPN licensed stallion Upperville (by Cabochon x Creool) is owned by Sonina Varvara and Nataliya Bronnikova. Under Russian Tatiana Dorofeeva he represented Russia at the 2014 World Equestrian Games and 2015 World Cup Finals in Las Vegas and 2016 World Cup Finals in Gothenburg. The latter event was their last competition together.
Upperville moved to Laurens van Lieren's yard in The Netherlands to be trained and sold, but when that didn't happen the horse was moved to Andreas Helgstrand's dealing yard in Denmark. A sale did not happen there either and Upperville is now back in Holland with Hooge who will ride him until he's sold.
