Casablanca, the highly talked about 5-year old Hanoverian mare that placed fourth at the 2017 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses a week ago, has been sold to Poland.
Danish horse dealer and owner Andreas Helgstrand sold the Conen x Fidertanz x Weltmeyer to returning customer Mateusz Cichon from Poland.
Bred by Johannes Westendarp and ridden by Australian Simone Pearce, Casablanca caused a sensation in Ermelo with her fantastic, world class trot and Grand Prix potential. In the Finals she scored 9.5 for trot, 8.8 for walk, 9.4 for canter, 8.3 for submission and 9.0 for general impression to finish fourth on 9.0.
Mateusz Cichon, who is the 2016 Polish Under 25 Champion, is a long-time client of Helgstrand's, having bought there his current Grand Prix horse Darling's Dream from Anna Kasprzak. This year Cichon has been competing Herzregent at international Under 25 Grand Prix level.
Cichon has regularly gone to Denmark for training at Helgstrand's and has now decided to invest not only in Casablanca, but also in the 4-year old Danish warmblood stallion Heiline's Zanzier (by Zack x De Niro).
"Thanks to Andreas' support and advice we have purchased many quality horses for Poland and established the first professional stallion station with dressage horses there," said Cichon. "Heiline's Zanzier is a beautiful stallion with three really good gaits, a fantastic character and a top modern dressage pedigree. He will complete our collection without a doubt."
