Kimi Nielsen Resigns at Danish Grand Prix Team Captain

Kimi Nielsen will be resigned from her position as Danish Grand Prix team captain as of 31 October 2017. Nielsen has been team captain for 10 years and as of 2014 she was also the official Danish Elite and Talent Manager.

Nielsen worked her first championships as team captain/chef d'equipe at the 2008 Olympic Games in Hong Kong, where Denmark achieved a historic team bronze. At her last championship a week ago, the 2017 European Championships in Gothenburg, Denmark won team silver and Cathrine Dufour won Special and Kur bronze. 

Besides being chef d'equipe for the seniors, Nielsen was responsible for the daily management of the team coaches, the development and implementation of strategies and action plans, as well as collaborating with the Danish sports' organisation Team Denmark.

"It was a fantastic journey and I'm happy to have experienced it," said Nielsen. "Danish Dressage is stronger than ever before and we have built up a strong and good collaboration between our team trainer Nathalie (zu Sayn-Wittgenstein) and the riders, of which the achievements in Gothenburg are living proof. That is why I feel this is the right timing to dedicate myself to new prokects and and to give this job to a new force."
