Swedish Under 25 rider Cecilia Bergakra Berglund has been nominated for the Comet of the Year Award which will be awarded at the 2017 Swedish Riders Gala in Stockholm, Sweden, on 29 November 2017.
Each year Swedish equestrian magazine Tidningen Ridsport selects three riders from the three Olympic disciplines for the Comet of the Year award to honour the most successful Swedish shooting star of the year.
For the 2017 Comet of the Year award the nominees are show jumper Evelina Tovek, eventer Lina Forsberg, and dressage rider Cecilia Bergakra Berglund.
The 16-year old Cecilia Bergakra Berglund has shown incredible versatility, riding up to Under 25 Grand Prix level despite her junior age. She was member of the Swedish team at the 2017 European Young Riders Championships where she finished eight aboard Primavera. She won gold at the 2017 Swedish Young Riders Championships.
