Canadian Olympian Christilot Boylen's Grand Prix horse Drentano has been sold to Hamburg based Monika Chromik as a schoolmaster.

Drentano is a 14-year old Hanoverian gelding by De Niro x Brentano I x Legat, bred by Jan Herman Ahuis.

The chestnut gelding first came into the spotlight when he sold at the 2009 Klosterhof Medingen auction for 135,000 euro to the Dutch Vera Zegwaard.

In 2013 the chestnut made his show debut in Germany under Theresa Wahler at Prix St Georges level. The gelding competed at just one event in Schenefeld. In October 2013 Drentano moved to long-time Klosterhof customer Christilot Boylen in Wellington, Florida.

The new combination made its international small tour debut at the CDI Wellington. By June they moved up to the medium tour at the CDI Cedar Valley and in 2015 they did the Grand Prix classes in Wellington. In 2015 Drentano sold from Vera Zegwaard to Canadian sponsor Deborah Kinzinger-Miculinic and Christilot retained the ride. Drentano did not compete at all in 2016 as Christilot successfully battled breast cancer that year, but they returned in 2017 for three more CDI's in Wellington.

"Last year Deb decided she would like to concentrate more on a string of young horses, and so in the summer Drentano sold to Monica who loves him dearly, and will learn a lot from him I am sure," Christilot told Eurodressage.

Miculinic had sent the chestnut back to Klosterhof Medingen in Germany, where he sold to Monika Chromik.

The new pair made its show debut  in July 2017 at S-level at the regional show in Schmilau. The pair has competed at fourevents at small tour level and in September they moved up to Grand Prix. At the regional Championships in Bad Segeburg at the end of September, they were 24th in the Grand Prix.

Chromik, who is married to professional dressage rider Bodo Chromik, runs dressage stable Alsterquelle in Hamburg. The facility sold a month ago to a sponsor of Kasselmann former stable rider Daniel Booker. Chromik is now based now at Anna Lena Kracht's yard in Hamurg-Timmerhorn and trains Anna Lena.
