The readers of L'Année Hippique have voted Russian Marina Aframeeva "Best Dressage Rider of 2017". She will receive an award at the 2017 CHI Geneva in Switzerland, on 7 - 10 December 2017.
The Dutch company BCM Media, publisher of the L’Année Hippique yearbook, announced the winners of the annual L’Année Hippique Awards on their website. The winners were chosen by popular vote.
The vote for Marina Aframeeve as "Best Dressage Rider of 2017" is nothing short of surprising. The 26-year old Russian Grand Prix rider did not compete at a single international dressage show in 2017. After representing Russia at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro she decided to stop riding Inessa Merkulova's GP horse Vosk and go for a nationally oriented dressage training and coaching career in Moscow. Aframeeva did her last CDI on Vosk in November 2016 in Oldenburg.
For half a century, the international yearbook L’Année Hippique is published in close cooperation with the Fédération Equestre International (F.E.I.). In over 280 pages the entire equestrian season is described in English in this commercial coffee table book.
The CHIO Aachen was once again chosen as the Best Dressage Competition of the Year 2017.
