Fior, the 2017 Bundeschampion and World Young Horse Championship finalist, has been sold and will become the new FEI hopeful for Danish Grand Prix rider Martin Christensen.
Fior is 2011 born Oldenburg gelding by Furstenball out of Super Girl (by Sandro Hit x Contender x Tin Rocco). He is bred by Paul Schockemohle.
Fior was licensed as a breeding stallion with the Oldenburg society in 2013, but he was gelded last summer so he could be focused on sport.
The tall black was trained at Hof Kasselmann and first competed by Spanish Borja Carrascosa in 2015. The pair won the Oldenburg Young Horse Championships in Rastede that year and went on to the 2015 Bundeschampionate, where they scored bronze in the 4-year old stallion division.
Fior sold for 350,000 euro at the 2015 PSI Auction and was once competed by Rudolf Widmann in May 2016. He then returned to Hof Kasselmann for further training and Frederic Wandres took on the ride.
In 2017 Wandres and Fior went to the World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo, where they finished 12th in the Finals and one month later they won the Bundeschampionate in Warendorf.
Fior has now moved to the Hamburg area, where the Danish Martin Christensen is based at Stall Tannenhof in Wedel, Germany.
"Fior is a fun horse with much talent and he is very intelligent," said Christensen about his new ride.
