German Alexandra Sessler and the 8-year old mare Chilly Jam were the double winners of the medium tour classes held at the 2018 CDI Aachen - Aachen Dressage Days on 28 - 30 May 2018.
Sessler obtained the ride on the German Sport Horse bred Chilly Jam (by Romanov x Compliment x White Magic) in December. Skipping the small tour, she has moved the bay mare directly to the medium tour for developing Grand Prix horses. Owned by her breeder Andreas Drosten, Chilly Jam was previously trained and competed by Aikje Fehl who was Sessler's assistant trainer and who showed her at the 2017 World Young Horse Championships in the 7-year old division. In Aachen Sessler scored a winning 72.157% in the Intermediaire A and 70.925% in the Intermediaire B.
In the Intermediaire A, Dutch Remy Basting rode the talented, but very tense Ambassador (by ) to a second place with 69.853%. In the Intermediaire B Portuguese Maria Caetano slotted in second on her rising Grand Prix horse, Fenix de Tineo (by Rubi). They scored 70.525%. Caetano will be staying in Aachen this entire summer to train with her coach Ton de Ridder in preparation of WEG team selection.
