The mare Feingefühl and the stallion So Unique became the winners of the two finals for 3-year old riding horses on the last day of competition at the 2018 Bundeschampionate in Warendorf, Germany, on Sunday 2 September 2018.
Feingefühl Earns Title with One of Event's Top Scores
Judges Ute von Platen, Reinhard Richenhagen and Gerd Sickinger assessed six combinations in the mares and gelding division and Gaby Heye-Hammerlage's dark bay mare Feingefühl (by Furstenball x Farewell III) stood out the most. After already winning the qualification round with 8.9, Sandra Kötter and Feingefühl upped the bar even more on Sunday and scored a total of 9.4, which was the second highest overall mark of the entire event. She earned 9 for trot, 9.5 for walk and canter, a 10 for training and 8.5 for conformation.
The silver medal went to the Swiss owned Oldenburg mare Venecia OLD (by Van Vivaldi x Florencio). Bred by Bern Schlüter and owned by Adrian Gasser, Venecia was presented by Pascal Kandziora and scored 9.0 in the final. The black mare earned 9.5 for walk, 9 for trot, canter and training and 8.5 for conformation. Tessa Frank steered Kemper's Hanoverian gelding Daktari K (by Danciano x Belissimo M) to bronze with 8.5. The liver chestnut gelding received 8.5 for walk, trot, canter, training and conformation.
So Unique Leads the Pack
German professional Eva Möller had a stellar round in the 3-year old stallion finals to add another Bundeschampion's title to her long list of achievements on young horses. At this year's edition alone she bagged two titles (So Unique, Dante Quando) and one silver medal (Valverde). Aboard Andreas Helgstrand's Rhinelander registered and Hanoverian licensed stallion So Unique (by Sezuan x Donnerhall) she topped the board in the 3-year old Stallion division and earned another champion's sash. The chestnut put straight 9s on the board: 9 for walk, trot, canter, training and conformation. So Unique is bred by Wilhelm Klausing.
Greta Heemsoth steered Breeder's Group Beckmann-Pape's Hanoverian stallion Despacito (by Don Nobless x Sandro Hit) to a silver medal with an 8.7 total. Bred by Josef Rudde, Despacito scored 8.5 for walk and canter, 9 for trot and training and 8.5 for conformation.
The Westfalian stallion Fonq (by Furst Fohlenhoff x Lissaro van de Helle) landed the bronze medal with 8.5. Ann-Christin Wienkamp rode Eugene Reesink's stallion, which is bred by Reiner Bockholt, to a 9.5 for walk, 8 for trot and canter, and 8.5 for training and conformation.
